Yoga and Organ Meridians: a Workshop with Paula Charnley.

Saturday 12th of March 2016, 14:00-16:30 – £20

In this workshop we will explore yoga postures from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), particularly the 5 elements theory. All phenomenon of the universe can be described within the 5 elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal including our physical body, emotions and the effect of the changing seasons. As we instinctively strive to stay in balance, internal or external circumstances can throw us off balance.

This interactive workshop offers a broader perspective to your yoga practice & general well being. By understanding the effect for example that grief, anger or anxiety has on our physical body we may be able to direct more compassion there during our yoga practice encouraging the flow of qi (chi) or prana in order to restore balance.

We will explore some useful acupressure points with self massage and playfully create some additional postures along the way

This workshop is open to all levels of practitioner, from beginners to advanced.
