DESCRIPTION:Friday 22nd of June – from 7.15 to 8.45 pm. Suggested donation £8.\nCome along\, express your voice\, and chant simple yet powerful mantras with others to awaken a deep and potent brightness in the heart.\nNo experience necessary. You don’t need to be a “good” singer! Just bring an open mind and a willingness to be present. Some people may also wish to meditate\, lie-down\, dance\, or just be in the space. Together we’ll create something beautiful and unique. Facilitated by Liam\, accompanied by the blissful and mysterious chords of the harmonium. \nLiam has been chanting mantras and playing the harmonium for about 5 years. He loves to bring people together and cultivate the conditions for the mantras to work their magic. \n

DESCRIPTION:3 Day Yoga for Teens Training led by Chloe Thorogood\nFriday 29th of June from 10 am to Sunday 1st of July 4 pm (approximately 4 sessions per day)\nInvestment: Early Bird cost of £180 if paid in FULL by 31st of May 2018 – Full cost £200\n\nFor yoga teachers\, graduates and current trainees and also for\nanyone working within the education system\, especially\nteachers of High School students in the areas of fitness and\nhealth. \nChloe Thorogood has been working with and teaching yoga to\nteens for the past 10 years. As a qualified High School teacher\nshe has an intricate understanding of the education system and\nthe practicalities of teaching yoga to teens. Chloe has been\nworking with a number of schools in the Byron Bay area in\nAustralia she has explored various techniques and practices\nthat are most effective to introduce and sustain yoga and\nmeditation for teens. \nThis is a groundbreaking training to introduce both yoga and\nmindfulness to teenagers within schools. An ideal course for\nthose currently teaching in schools in areas such as fitness or\nhealth and want to introduce yoga into the curriculum\, or for\nyoga teachers who would like to expand their skills to offer\nspecialist classes to teens.\nThe training will cover exploration of all aspects of yoga and\nmindfulness and its contributions to physical\, emotional and\nspiritual health.\nThe program will combine both practical and theory workshops\ncomplimentary to the key objectives of the Personal\nDevelopment\, Health and Physical Education Key Stages 4-6\nCurriculum. A comprehensive training to equip those who work\nwith young people with skills and knowledge of teaching yoga\nand mindfulness to adolescents. \nParticipants will gain a toolbox of resources to create yoga and\nmindfulness classes for adolescents that aim to enhance\nconnectedness\, sense of self and advocates lifelong\ncommitment to health. \n• Learning to teach yoga postures safely and effectively to\nteens\n• An introduction to philosophy\, pranayama and mindfulness\ntechniques for teens\n• An overview of anatomy\, psychology and philosophy for\nadolescence\n• Explore the differences between genders and level of\ninstructions\n• Gain an understanding of the management of the learning\nenvironment to maximise participation including sequencing\, classroom\nmanagement techniques\, rules and regulations\n• Learn how to establish and implement self care strategies\nin accordance with the Department of Education guide\n• Practical sessions to fill your toolbox with self esteem\nexercises\, techniques to promote positive mental health with plans for the yoga\nclasses\n• Gain an understanding of the teen ‘mind’ adolescent psychology and an introduction to understanding anatomical / physiological development \nThis 25 hour training program will focus on building your knowledge so you gain a toolbox of skills to guide teenagers through practical yoga and mindfulness sessions for wide ranging benefits. \n\n\nAbout Chloe: \nChloe Thorogood has been working with and teaching yoga to teens for\nthe past 12 years.
