Play a singing bowl and try different sounding techniques. Deepen your experience with the help of interactive exercises.\n• The origin\, history and composition of Himalayan singing bowls and how are they made\n• Characteristics of singing bowls and mallets\n• How do they work? Learn about\, and experience\, the effect of the singing bowls’ sound\n• Learn and practice singing bowl playing techniques\n• How to use your singing bowl at home for yourself or for your family\n• How to choose\, buy and clean your singing bowl. \nPART 2 – from 5 to 7.30 pm:  A Pampering Yoga & Sound Bath experience £15\nInvite your awareness into this session with a short relaxation and a simple breathing exercise. Soon after graduating as a yoga teacher she found her calling when she got introduced to the art of using singing bowls by her aunt\, Szilagyi Zoltanne Balint Gyorgyi\, who is the founder of the Sound Therapy Institute Budapest. After her initial singing bowl training Szilvia was eager to explore the possibilities of combining sound work and yoga. \nUnder the professional guidance of her aunt and mentor\, Szilvia spent 2 years developing Yoga & Sound\, her interpretation of how a mindful yoga practice and the use of Himalayan singing bowls can best support the process of uniting mind and body in a relaxing and energising experience. DESCRIPTION:Glastonbury\, King Arthur’s ancient isle of Avalon\, has been a centre of pilgrimage for a wide range of people of different faiths and spirituality since ancient times.\nGlastonbury Tor rises dramatically from the mystical landscape of the Somerset levels. Nestled just beneath the Tor\, and within easy walking distance from the town\, is Shekinashram \, the special location for Andrew’s weekend retreat. The retreat offers the perfect opportunity to wind down\, relax and practice yoga in a very spiritual surrounding. The Ashram offers Bhakti yoga sessions which are optional\, but wonderfully inspiring and very traditional in the Vedic traditions of India. A developing body of research shows that expressive writing helps calm the mind and emotions\, and increases feelings of happiness and wellbeing. People who have done Writing for Wellbeing say it sparks their imagination and helps them release both personal and creative limitations. As well\, they find it focusing and meditative\, and say it helps them be kinder to themselves. \n\nIn this workshop\, Laura Napran will guide you through specific activities designed to help release the words within you in a positive and creative way. Our focus will be on change and growth. These enjoyable activities will help you find clarity in approaching fresh challenges and ideas for new paths to growth. Writing for Wellbeing increases self-awareness\, fosters clarity and insight\, and lifts your mood.All writing levels welcome\, and no previous writing experience is needed. Anyone can do it.
