SUMMARY:Writing for Wellbeing: Storytelling for Self-Exploration.
DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY 6 MAY from 1.00 to 4.00pm\nWrite your way to a more positive outlook on life!\nWe all have a story to tell\, and we are all part of greater stories.\nIn this workshop\, we will explore the potential of story writing\nas a means for self-growth and awareness.\nWe will work with stories such as the Ramayana tale\, as well as using our creativity in approaching our own life story. \nNo previous writing experience is needed\, only a willingness to explore your own creative potential in a nurturing and friendly environment. You never have to read your work aloud. \nWhat is Writing for Wellbeing?\nWords have power! Writing is good for you! We use guided writing activities as a gentle approach to personal growth. These writing activities are tools which you can take away with you to use throughout life. \nA developing body of research shows that expressive writing helps calm the mind and emotions\, and increases feelings of happiness and wellbeing. People who have done Writing for Wellbeing say it sparks their imagination and helps them release both personal and creative limitations. As well\, they find it focusing and meditative\, and say it helps them be kinder to themselves. \nHow does it work?\nWriting for Wellbeing is easy! You will be guided through specific writing activities designed to help release the words within you in a positive and creative way. Individual sessions will be tailored to your own needs for healing and growth. Group sessions are enhanced by the support and energy of other participants. \nNo previous experience is needed. Anyone can do it. You will be guided through each writing activity in a non-judgemental atmosphere. Technique is unimportant — whatever you do is right for you. And remember — you never have to read out anything you have written\, so you can write whatever you want \nLaura Napran\, PhD\, is an experienced teacher\, writer and storyteller\,\nand a member of Lapidus (Literary Arts for Personal Development)\nand NAWE (National Association of Writers in Education).\nCall 07909 144414 or email info@pureyogacheshire.co.uk to reserve your place \nOnly £30 (including tea and biscuits) \n

SUMMARY:Clear Mind Yoga with Pressiana in Macclesfield
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 22nd of April 2017 – from 1.30 to 5.30 pm – £30\nThis workshop will reveal the richness of slowness and stillness.\nWe will combine asanas (postures)\, pranayama ( breathing) and slow movements to develop the sensitivity and understanding about our comfort zones and discomforts.\nThe slow practices are simple but in the same time quite intense and challenging. \nGravity will be an essential part of the workshop. We will learn how to utilise it in our asanas and surrender to it to make it work for us. \nWhen we move slow or stay in the asanas for a longer period\, the effect reaches the nadis (meridians) where the prana energy(life force energy) flows.\nThe effect takes place on deeper layers than the physical body\, it works on the mental\, emotional and energy body.\nWe will improve the circulation of prana\, which will start removing any mental or emotional blockages that have created tensions. \nStep out of every day hectic and treat yourself with four hours of sweet deep relaxation\, a better understanding about your limits\, a good laugh and maybe\ncry. \nThe workshop is suitable for very beginners and advanced students. \nAbout the teacher \nPressiana Petia (Sannyasin Vishuddhi) was introduced to OM as the essence of existence by her mother\, and yoga has been a part of her life since her childhood. \nPrimarily working as a professional photographer Pressiana was born in Bulgaria but based in Germany and teaching in centers and ashrams around the world. \nShe is the founder and director of Corsica-Yoga Center since 2000 where she gives classes\, workshops\, retreats and teacher training programs. \nShe studied in India for years with great masters as Swami Satyananda\, B.K.S Iyengar\, Rishi Dharmajyoti\, just to name some\, and holds a diploma in advanced yogic studies and yoga therapy from Vishwa Yoga Darshan in Trimbakeshwar in India. Pressiana is initiated into Sannyas in the lineage of Bihar School of Yoga and carries the spiritual name Sn.Vishuddhi Saraswati.\nAlongside she is certified Ayurveda panchakarma therapist and Reiki Grandmaster.\nHer yoga classes merge the dualities of being funny & serious\, fast & slow\, laughing & crying. The main focus is on awareness\, concentration and sensitivity on every breath\, emotion\, thought and pose.

SUMMARY:Kirtan: Journey In To the Heart with Bhavana.
DESCRIPTION:Friday 24th of March 2017 from 7.15 to 8.45 pm\nOnce again we are delighted to host our friends Narayani and Mat for a joyous evening of kirtan!\nKirtan is chanting or singing\, a form of yoga for the voice done in a group accompanied by music. It requires no background or training\, and is easily learnt. Repeating Sanskrit mantras creates a meditative and uplifted mental state\, and helps to melt inhibitions that can suppress your voice and expression. You add your voice to those around you\, creating a sense of harmony. Some people feel a sense of calm\, others a sense of elation- it’s a great way to unblock emotions and a sense of being stuck. The words and melodies are simple and repeated so that you can get into a rhythm and enter a more meditative state conducive to letting go. \nBhavana’s kirtans are unique throughout the world for their dynamism\, creative use of the ancient mantras\, range of sounds\, and ability to access so many routes to the calm place within. \nPrice: £10 pre-book\, £12 at door \nAbout Bhavana: \nNarayani and Mat Baker are a husband and wife team who share a love and passion for devotional music\, kirtan and the power of sound. They travel throughout the UK and Europe offering their music and voice workshops wherever they are invited. \nNarayani is known for her powerful devotional singing and for facilitating voicework that opens the heart and encourages our highest expression. Over the last 10 years\, her journey of yoga led her to discover her own resonant voice. Leading her first Kirtan had such a profound and transformative impact on her life that she chose to offer that same gift to others through Kirtan and voice workshops around the world. Narayani studied voice work with Chloe Goodchild and the Naked Voice and has learnt yoga and trained as a teacher in the lineage of Krishnamacharya  and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. \nMat is a singer and multi-instrumentalist. He brings a gentle\, transformational quality with his soulful voice and powerful percussion and Bouzouki (Mandolin family) playing. His passion for devotional music began in his childhood in South Africa. His discovered Bhakti Yoga and Kirtan on meeting his wife\, Narayani and it quickly became a very natural and integral part of his life and music.   Mat also performs solo\, singing devotional folk with his Bouzouki\, as well as collaborating with a variety of inspirational World & Devotional musicians.  Mat has studied with a number of master percussion teachers including Glen Velez and Reinhard Flatischler. \nMore information on Bhavana website.

SUMMARY:Fine Tuning Alignment & Self Adjustment: Yoga Workshop with Joanna Walter
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 20th of August 2016\, from 13.00 to 16.00 – £25\nWhy bother learning to align the body in your yoga practice? On a very physical level it helps protect the bones\, joints\, muscles\, vessels\, tissue and organs of the body. Keeping them in a much better working order. But just as important although not so obvious is how important correct physical alignment is in regard to the flow of energy/Prana in the body. \nAccording to Yoga philosophy we humans are constructed a bit like an onion\, with layers\, five to be precise also known as sheaths or bodies and in Sanskrit they are called Kosha’s. Moving from gross to subtle they are: \nAnnamaya Kosha -The outer physical layer; Pranamaya Kosha – the energetic body; Manomaya Kosha the mental body; Vijnanamaya Kosha the intellectual body; and lastly Anandamaya Kosha the bliss body. At the centre of these lies the Self or Atman. \nThese layers can be described and experienced differently but they are inseparable and interconnected. What happens to one affects what happens to them all. So coming back to the alignment of the body\, we can start to understand what BKS Iyengar means in his quote from Light on life ” It is through the alignment of the body that I discovered the alignment of my mind\, self and intelligence ” \nWhen we go to a Yoga class our alignment gets adjusted by the teacher\, but what can we do when we are practising on our own ? During this workshop I will be teaching techniques on how to fine tune your alignment so you can have a better understanding of what correct alignment looks and feels like. I will also be giving techniques on how to adjust your own alignment using props. \nFor more information and bookings: contact Francesca at info@pureyogacheshire.co.uk of phone 07909 144 414 \nAbout Jo: \nJo has been practicing Yoga for 20 years\, starting with a 10 day Vipassana meditation in 1996 in Nepal. This was followed by a devoted Ashtanga Vinyasa practice which led to her 1st teacher training with Pattabhi Jois’s nephew Vishwanath in 2003\,  which was an amazing full time 3 month intensive in Bangalore – India. \nShe then had the great fortune to be part of the last full time 9 month teacher training with Louisa Sear’s Yoga Arts in Australia. During her 9 month training she met her teacher Clive Sheridan who’s experience and knowledge of Yoga is truly outstanding\, teaching his unique blend of Hatha Yoga\, Advaita Vedanta and Tantra. Jo has also been very lucky to be Clive’s assistant on several of his retreats. Also on the 9 month training she met Iyengar teacher’s Glen and Margaret Ceresoli who she has spent the last 6 years training with. \nShe has been teaching Yoga professionally since 2005.

SUMMARY:The Voice of the Heart - Workshop with Bhavana
DESCRIPTION:Sun 22nd May 2016 at 1:30-5pm\nThe heart and the voice are intimately connected\, in this workshop we will explore connecting to our voices\, without any need of skill or experience\, as a way of allowing our hearts to open. Narayani’s and Mat’s experience in Bhakti Yoga and Voicework\, will support you on a journey of accessing your voice and exploring moving from a place of love and compassion\, while all the time acknowledging our authentic and very real experiences and emotions. Using mantras\, movement\, rhythm\, sound and song we will explore the relationship between our voices and heart. \nThese workshops are safe and fun for people with no previous singing experience and rich enough to inspire and challenge those who have been practicing voice work regularly. You’ll learn how to use your voice as a tool for expressing what you really feel\, accessing the inner ‘voice’ of wisdom at your centre. \nPrice: £30/£35 with Kirtan \nAbout Bhavana: \nNarayani and Mat Baker are a husband and wife team who share a love and passion for devotional music\, kirtan and the power of sound.

SUMMARY:Practising yoga on the sea shore is a good method
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters\, as opposed to using ‘Content here\, content here’\, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text\, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
