SUMMARY:PAST EVENT - Kirtan\, an evening of Chanting with Tim Chalice
DESCRIPTION:Friday 22nd of March 2019 – from 7.30 to 9.30 pm – £10 prepaid – £12 at the door\n\nPayment via bank transfer to Pure Yoga Cheshire bank account: Sort Code: 162432 – Account number 10979409 – Please confirm your attendance and payment with an email.\n\n\nJoin Tim for a beautiful evening of devotional chanting. By repeating simple mantras Kirtan is an effortless and very accessible way to experience some freedom from the endless chatter of the mind\, revealing a graceful state of being and inner peace. \nThe moment we begin to chant there is a feeling of letting go\, a deepening of the breath and a sense of coming home. We can let go of the doership and simply be in the present. As we immerse ourselves in these repetitive sounds our thoughts begin to recede and when the chants end\, we can bathe in the silence that remains. It is a beautiful\, simple practice. Feelings of fear\, anger and separation are gently transformed into feelings of love\, compassion and Oneness. \nKirtan is for everyone. No prior experience of chanting is necessary to gain the many benefits it has to offer\, simply an openness to what may occur. Whether you wish to still your mind\, awaken your heart\, de-stress or simply enjoy singing with others kirtan is for you! \n\nTim is a regular at UK Bhakti Festivals and yoga gatherings and in 2012 released kirtan CD\, Devotional Heart\, produced by Tabla Tom. The follow-up ‘Give It All Away For Love’ was released in 2016.\n\n“Tim is a dedicated pilgrim of prayerful chant and song. His devotional heart sound and meditative mantras\, penetrate your mind\, inspire participation\, and awaken your heart.” – Chloe Goodchild – Singer\, Author “The Naked Voice”.\n\n\n“Tim Chalice is a chanter for the people. His heartfelt tones inspire an immediate sense of coming together and an earthy spirit. Tim is highly original in his approach and you just want to join in at once as he wholeheartedly draws you in to the chant!” – Nikki Slade\, Free the Inner Voice\n\n\nFor more information about Tim visit  http://www.timchalice.com/ . \nHis CDs Give It All Away For Love\, Devotional Heart & Planting Peace will be available to buy.

The Yoga Asana will be a combination of gentle and strong practices\, including Sun Salutations and Vinyasa flow\, as well as more traditional Hatha Yoga postures work. \nThe afternoon’s Satsang is an opportunity to share our insights and philosophical outlooks\, as well as your chance to voice questions and insights of a spiritual nature. We complete the afternoon with Asana (with inversions\, Yin Yoga and restorative practices) and Pranayama. There will also be the opportunity for walking meditations to special locations on the island and mantra chanting. We offer this retreat open to all abilities – from complete beginners through to seasoned yogins\, so whether this is your very first retreat or not\, we invite you to take this opportunity to experience each new day\, each new moment as totally new and unique with us in Tenerife. \nAs part of the retreat process we ask to respect each other’s space and sanctity by limiting the use of electronic devices\, and honouring the daily periods of silence. Mornings will be silent until 12 o’clock\, and there will be one full day of silence where we will ask you to switch off your mobile phone. We understand this might be a unique occurrence in this day and age\, but there will be a 24 hour contactable phone number for the retreat centre in case of emergency. \n\n\n \nThe programme offers:\n\n\n \n\n\nMeditation and Pranayama early morning (one hour approx) \n\n\nYoga asana (postures) mid-morning (one and half hour) \n\n\nAfternoon practice – Question and Answers (40 minutes – 1 hour) followed by Yoga postures and Pranayama (one hour approx) \n\n\nLate evening gatherings on some days. \n\n\nThere will be time for quietly enjoying contemplation and personal time. We will observe silence each morning until lunch time\, as well as a full day of silence as part of our practice.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvestment: \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n£ 715 – €799 based on a shared triple room \n\n£ 840 – €949 based on a shared double room \n£ 1150 – €1299 single use of a room \nDeposit of £200 (non refundable) confirms your spot. \nDirect flights from Manchester and most UK airports are already available and can be booked easily. Transfer to and from airport will be arranged. \n\n\n\nAndrew and Francesca’s bios:\n\n\n\nAndrew Wrenn began his Yoga journey as an asthmatic more than 20 years ago.\n\n\nThe regular practice of pranayama (breath work) helped him to overcome his condition. Embracing a daily Asana (posture) and Pranayama practice he found a perfect combination for strength\, flexibility and wellbeing. He also found that his practice enhanced a balanced and focused mind and an inner depth that he explores everyday in his Meditation. He is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher with influences from different backgrounds\, having practised with many yogis and yoginis in different styles over the years. He joins his beloved teacher Clive on his annual 3 week retreat in the jungle\, and also exploring the roots of Yoga and Tantra visiting remote sacred locations in West Bengal. You can find him teaching at his studio Pure Yoga Cheshire in Macclesfield\, UK (www.pureyogacheshire.co.uk) of which he is a co-director with his wife Francesca\, leading yoga retreats and workshops in the UK and abroad\, and also teaching online at Ekhart Yoga ( www.ekhartyoga.com) \n\n\n \n\n\nFrancesca Giusti also teaches yoga online at www.ekhartyoga.com. She practiced the traditional Ashtanga Yoga sequence as taught in Mysore for many years\, before embarking in a deeper journey that led her to train with the Yoga Arts school in Australia. The depth of her journey inspired her to share her practice with others and she has been teaching since 2004 in Italy\, Ireland (Cork area until 2012) and now England. \n\n\nHer passion for Yoga began in 1997 and deepened with a daily practice since 2000. Many trainings\, retreats\, workshops and teachers later she is very much a student of yoga herself\, and she likes to share her practice with precision\, compassion and integrity. Her daily practice includes Meditation\, Pranayama and Asana. She is forever grateful to all her teachers\, especially to Clive\, whom she joins every year in his 3 week retreat in India. \n\n\nAfter almost 12 years in Ireland\, she moved from Cork City to the North of England after meeting her now husband\, Andrew Wrenn\, in India. Francesca teaches at her studio Pure Yoga Cheshire (www.pureyogacheshire.co.uk)\, workshop and retreats in the Uk\, Italy and other European locations\, and online at Ekhart Yoga ( www.ekhartyoga.com).

SUMMARY:Forrest Yoga Introduction with Gill Slater - Open Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 1st of December 2018 – from 1 to 3 pm. Investment £18\nCome and join us as we explore some Forrest Yoga. We will be spending time learning to breathe deeply and connect to feeling in our bodies.\nThe breathing then supports and informs the asana practice\, enabling longer holds and working in a way that allows for integrity and safety in the poses. \nForrest Yoga is a strong practice leading to a deep connection to centre and the whole of the core. \nThis yoga event is all about learning more about the practice and yourself. \nThis workshop is suitable for all – from those who are just beginning their yoga journey to those more experienced. \n“Forrest Yoga is renowned as an intensely physical and internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life.  The practice challenges students to access their whole being and to use Forrest Yoga as a path to finding and then cleansing the emotional and mental blocks that dictate and limit their lives.  Students cultivate an acute awareness of their own practice and life process\, creating a unique and powerful opportunity for them to make practical life decisions based on their own experiences.”(From Forrest Yoga Philosophy www.forrestyoga.com) \nAbout Gill Slater (Open Yoga): \nI began my working life as a primary school teacher\, teaching in the UK and in Kenya. That was a long time ago and much has happened since then. Some of it by design but much of it was unplanned. It turned out just fine. \nOn returning to the UK from Zimbabwe in the mid ’80’s I trained as a counsellor and worked both privately and within the public sector. I worked for several years at MIND as a counsellor and went on to be employed by GMP and St Mary’s Hospital as a Counsellor and Crisis Worker at The St Mary’s Sexual Assault Centre. Alongside my teaching in primary education and counselling I began my training in massage. Massage became my passion and for the past 17 years has been my ‘job’. \nI began as a Remedial Massage Therapist dealing with injuries and general aches and pains. I went on to do Sport’s Massage and then No Hands Massage which prolonged my working life and gave me many tools to work with. On reaching 61 years of age (October 2016) The Universe poked me strongly and\, after much deep thought I decided to ‘retire’ from my massage work. However\, my knowledge of the body hugely informs how I teach yoga and so nothing is ever wasted. \nTwenty years ago I went to an Iyengar Yoga class and stayed for nine years soaking it all up. Training to teach seemed the perfect next step and so I trained with Brian Cooper in Astanga Yoga. I went on to work with various wonderful teachers including Sandra Sabatini who was a pupil of Vanada Scaravelli and most recently Ana Forrest. I completed my Forrest Foundation Training in 2012 and have taught a small\, very dedicated group since then. I currently teach one external class a week and several private sessions and from my Therapy Room at home. Ana Forrest’s training underpins all that I now share with my wonderful yoga folk. It has also been instrumental in healing me physically\, mentally\, emotionally and spiritually. The practice is intense but achievable and I\, who can no longer take part in an Astanga/Vinyasa practice due to back issues\, delight in my Forrest time on the mat. \nMost recently I have returned to my interest in The Feldenkrais Method and Hanna Somatics to broaden my understanding of the body’s capacity to move\, heal and feel. Three years ago I completed my Pregnancy Yoga Training with Sally Parkes and along the way I have trained in Reiki to Master Level and Reconnective Healing with Dr Eric Pearl. I am married\, very happily to John who is a retired Civil Engineer and we have a gorgeous daughter\, Katie. Last year I spent a wonderful two weeks teaching yoga to all who passed by during their stay at the beautiful Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. All my teaching skills proved immensely useful as I had a wide variety of people from the total beginner to those who practice daily back home. \nInformation and bookings: info@pureyogacheshire.co.uk – phone 07909144414

SUMMARY:PAST EVENT - Kundalini Yoga Workshop with Jenni.
DESCRIPTION:Sunday 8th of April 2018 from 1 to 4 pm\nKnown as the Yoga of Awareness\, Kundalini Yoga is potent and powerful and will shake you up – in a good way. It gets you physically and mentally fit – and fast. \nThe energy of Kundalini is powerful and awakens your Soul. We start to stir this energy up by physical practice\, mantra\, breath control and meditation. When we start to wake up to our Authentic Self\, we live by our dreams and visions\, we start to create the life we have always wanted. We loosen up the hold of the mind and find a deep sense of stillness inside which we call “Sat Nam”. \nThe Workshop is designed for you to have your own experience of “Sat Nam”. Developing yourself from the inside out\, so what we project into the world is only a True\, Natural version of ourselves. The eyes are closed through the practice to encourage you to develop internally. \nThis workshop will Include:\nPhilosophy on the Origins of Kundalini Yoga\nPhyscial Excercise Set (Kriya)\nMeditation to help you bust through blocks\, fears and negativity\nAn uplifting mantra meditation\nRaw chocolate! \nSuitable for complete beginners to Yoga. No previous experience necessary. \nInvestment £30\nPureYogaCheshire \nTo book\, please email info@pureyogacheshire.co.uk\, phone 07909 144 414.
