Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga that is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness. It builds strength, stamina and flexibility and places particular focus on detail, precision and alignment, drawing the senses inward and promoting calm in the body and mind.
Indra is qualified as an Introductory Level 2 Iyengar yoga teacher and has been practising for over 10 years, training under the tutelage of a number of senior teachers. She was initially drawn to the physical aspects of the practice that keep the body healthy and the feeling of wellbeing that remains well after classes have finished. She regularly attends classes with her teacher and workshops when possible, to further her own practice. She gets satisfaction from sharing with students her knowledge of Iyengar yoga and the benefits it can bring.
In these classes we will be focusing on Iyengar yoga for beginners. They are suitable for all new yoga students or those new to the Iyengar style of yoga. Attending these classes will help you develop flexibility, strength and body awareness, giving you skills to relax the body and mind and enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing.
